Founder & Managing Principal
Behzad Ayon is the founder and managing principal of Maison Developments. With more than two decades of hands-on construction experience across hundreds of high-end residential projects, he founded Maison to bring builder-led discipline to a development industry too often driven by spreadsheets alone.
The principles behind Maison are personal. Craftsmanship, accountability, long-term thinking, and a direct relationship with every project — these are the principles Behzad was raised with, refined over a career spent on construction sites before boardrooms, and now applied at the scale of multifamily development.
Beyond Maison, Behzad maintains a background as a real estate law clerk in Ontario, with direct experience in title insurance and land transactions — bringing technical fluency to every aspect of acquisition, structure, and execution.
Maison is led from Toronto. The portfolio is small, intentional, and entirely within the Greater Toronto Area.

Maison Developments is a privately-held, independently-operated developer based in Toronto. The company is founder-led, with capital partnerships structured project by project under single-purpose entities.
We build only in the Greater Toronto Area, only in neighbourhoods we know, and only as many projects as can be personally stewarded by the principal. This is by design.
Our team is intentionally small and selectively expanding. We are building Maison to be the kind of company we want to spend the next thirty years inside.
Every design decision is informed by buildability, material reality, and decades of construction experience. We are operators, not promoters.
We design buildings to be lived in for generations, not flipped for a cycle. Material choices, proportions, and details are selected for how they age — not how they photograph on day one.
Maison builds only in the Greater Toronto Area. We know these neighbourhoods, we understand the approvals process, and we are accountable to the communities we build within.
We partner with capital that shares a long-term horizon. Each project is held in its own single-purpose entity, with clear governance and an emphasis on patient, disciplined returns.
